Everybody went through that. Everybody endured that. Everybody hates that. Why actually Windows-based computers are getting so low on space without installing new applications. Where does all the junk come from? And how to get rid of it?
1. Cached Internet Files
First of all, you need to know that there are files which are downloaded and then saved on your hard drive so that the web browser can present you this nice-looking web page.
But it’s logical, right? In order to show you something web browser needs to download information what present where. That’s why browser download files and place them on partition. Nothing complicated: all the images, text files, video files, sound files have to be saved somewhere.
The trouble with these is that in order to load websites faster, web browser tend to keep those files longer and they don’t delete them after you turn it off. So when time passes by more and more files are stored and less and less space on the hard drive is left.
2. Windows Update Temporary Files
Next thing is, there are files which are leftovers from updates installation. As you can see, Windows Update is not so well written piece of software since it doesn’t clean after itself. The trouble is, you can’t do anything about it.
3. Other Files Left By Other Apps
But Windows Update is not the only not so-well written piece of software. There are more of them. You see, when an app runs it has to create files it operates on. It usually thrusts them into RAM memory but there are many apps running and RAM memory is finite. That’s why they sometimes save files also on hard drive. They very often do that, really.
However, due to the fact that applications are in very many cases written a little bit badly and don’t clean up after themselves. If they don’t, you’re left with a lot of messy and unneeded files.
The Sad Truth, or The Conclusion
The sad truth is that you need to delete all the unimportant files from your computer once in awhile, because more often than not they are do not get erased on their own. And how to do that?
It’s actually not that hard to do: all there needs to be done is for you to download a tool called CCleaner. This one will scan your computer for unimportant files and delete all of them. It’s totally safe tool, too, so don’t get scared before hitting ‘Clean’ button!
